How to create a fast loading home page in WordPress?

Are you tired of slow loading pages in the wordpress?

Are your site blog posts and pages are made in the page builders like elementor, divi, beaver builder, WP Bakery etc?

Does your site using too much server resources while loading?

If the answer of above questions are yes, then read this post.

One of the main reason for slow loading WordPress websites that they are made with poor coding or the page builders used in it.

I agree that page builders speed up website making process, provides additional functionalities and the pages built with these page builders are looks very beautiful.

But these things do not matter if the site loading speed is slow. And the site is consuming too much server resources to load.

How can we solve this issue?

We can solve this issue by using the gutenberg based block builders.

Sites made with Gutenberg based block builders are very fast as compare to the site made with other page builders.

I also do not prefer using page builders because of these two main reasons:

• Site made with page builders are slow as compare to sites not made with page builders. Becase they add additional javascripts, DOM elements etc. in every page.
• Most of the page builders are paid, and they have a recurring cost every year.

I am not saying that you should completely avoid the page builders. Say for example, if you are making 5-6 pages website for a small business, which require a beautiful design. Then you can use it.

But if you are making a blog like website or your site demands fast load time. Then i would suggest avoid using page builders. And instead of that use gutenberg based block.

But if you have experience of making website without page builders then you can achieve those results without using page builders.

My website https://RohitShuklaMarketer.com is made with free theme and gutenberg based block builder only. I haven’t used any page builders on it.

there are many good themes available on wordpress like

• Generate Press
• Astra theme
• Kadence theme
• Genesis theme
• Neve theme
• Blocksy theme
• and many more.

Almost all themes mentioned above have a free and paid version available. But on kadence theme and Blocksy theme has many options available in the free version itself.

That’s why we are using Kadence theme in the tutorial.

Some of the concepts of the website designing

Page builders work in the layering concept in WordPress. And the same concept is used in the gutenberg blocks.

Layers: Page builders work in the layering concept. Whatever is in the background is called the base layer. Background can be of any colour, image, video.

If we want to add another element to the background layer, then it will go on top of that background element. On top of the background, you can add text, image, video, buttons etc or you can further add other elements to divide that block into different columns etc. For better clarity watch the video, I have used this concept in designing this page.
